Mo Laudi: from Johannesburg to the world
Updated: Sep 16
Mo Laudi is a South African DJ and music producer based between Paris and Johannesburg. Born Ntshepe Tsekere Bopape, he brings Afro house, amapiano, kwaito and electronic club music into a practice shaped by movement, collaboration and the dancefloor.
South African roots, London and Paris dancefloors
South African house and kwaito are central to Mo Laudi’s musical language. His work across Johannesburg, London and Paris places those sounds in conversation with deep house, acid, techno and music from across the African diaspora.
The club is a meeting place: a room where records can carry memories, introduce unfamiliar voices and bring people together. That approach runs through his DJ sets, productions and Globalisto platform. His selections move between generations and scenes, keeping rhythm and the people in the room at the centre.
For an introduction to that world, listen to Mo Laudi Radio for his music and DJ mixes.
Records, remixes and collaborations
Collaboration gives the catalogue its range. “Por Cima” brings Mo Laudi together with Flavia Coelho; “Dance Inside of You” features Rocky. “Lerato Laka (My Love)” connects Mo Laudi, DJ Satelite and Max-Hoba, while “Sowa Part II” and “Sowa Part III (Paris Afro House Club Mix)” are collaborations with Fatoumata Diawara.

His remix work includes K.O.G featuring Pat Thomas on “Odo Sronko (Mo Laudi’s Paris Afro House Club Mix)”, Elida Almeida featuring Flavia Coelho on “Sou Free”, and Kananayé’s “Sea Lion Woman — Mo Laudi Touch”. “Al Khaleej: A New Vision”, featuring Amapiano Soundsystem, extends that network of musical exchanges.

Globalisto: music as a meeting place
Globalisto connects Mo Laudi’s work as a DJ, producer and artist. Its philosophy draws on Ubuntu and Botho, with an emphasis on radical hospitality and the relationships that make a community. In music, that means making space for exchange across languages, places and generations.
The dancefloor sits at the centre of this wider practice. Read more about Globalisto and explore Mo Laudi’s live performances to follow the connection between records, people and performance.
